Costa Rica – Cooking, Healing, and the Art of Becoming

Stillness

Stillness

The Pause

I took some time off to contemplate what my next move would be.

That’s where Costa Rica came in.

An Ayurvedic cooking course that served me just right. Two months of slowing down, grounding, and learning to take one breath at a time. I cried when I needed to. I sat when I didn’t have to fix anything.

It became my sanctuary—a peaceful, selfish routine that helped me rediscover what stillness really means. The act of creating my reality was becoming clear.

The Practice

If I served anyone these dishes, they would feel very special.

I’m proud of the time I put in to learn how to cook, prepare, and serve with care.

Ayurvedic cooking begins with intention—every meal infused with love. It’s not just food; it’s energy. When I cook, I feel deeply connected to whoever I’m cooking for. They can’t help but absorb that energy because it’s made with love, and love transfers.

Cooking became meditation.

It grounded me and awakened me at the same time.

The People

I realized that what I’d been avoiding wasn’t people—it was discomfort.

The only way to grow was to face every situation and create joy even inside the uncomfortable moments.

Porchia told me something that stayed with me:

“You can grow and mature as much as you wish, but if you stay in your cave… no one will ever know you’ve grown, and you will never get the joy you worked for.”

She was right. Growth isn’t meant to stay hidden.

The Place

The property was stunning—five acres of lush peace.

A pool, a dining area, a small library, and open spaces to just be.

Every sunrise felt like a quiet invitation to return to myself.

Every sunset, a reminder that endings can be beautiful too.

Reflection

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to be still—without fixing, achieving, or explaining anything?
